Rebels Split With Bama

4-3 Shootout Win

After coming out slower than slow in the 1st period and being out-shot 19-1, the Rebels showed character and bounced back in the second to even the score in the 2nd period at two goals a piece. The Frozen Tide took the lead back and the Rebels with 1:12 seconds left scored a power play goal with the goalie pulled to tie the game up. In the shootout, Rebel goalie just Ragland slammed the door shut by not allowing a goal in the shootout and Senior Cameron Cook scored five-hole as the second shooter to give the Rebels the shootout win.

4-3 Shootout Loss

The Rebels came out flying in game 2, looking to clinch 2nd place in the West Division for the first time. After 3 back and forth periods and OT, the Rebels and Frozen Tide went to another shootout. This time though the Rebels couldn’t bury a goal on the Frozen Tide goalie while the Tide scored one goal in the shootout to take the win.

 

The Rebels and Tide meet again second semester to decide who takes the season series. The Ole Miss Rebels are off till January 17th/18th when they are back in Tupelo, MS at the BancorpSouth Arena to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Rebels finish the first semester with a record of 11-6-1.
